Bye-Week Review: Revisiting This Season's Predictions

The Skins are 3-6 at the bye, and it's always fun to revisit predictions made at the season's beginning.  Predictions addressed win-loss record, RGIII, Alfred Morris, the defensive secondary, Billy Cundiff, and the general outlook for this year and beyond.

This blog looks to be batting about 80% so far.

Prediction: "The Skins will go 6-10"
Status: Looks more or less accurate

Prediction: "Alfred Morris will turn out to be a great fit for Shanahan's zone-blocking scheme."
Status: Accurate.  Morris is 4th in the league in rushing yards.

Prediction: "RGIII will have his share of big plays ... but he will also struggle with poise inside the pocket."
Status: Mostly wrong.  RGIII's poise inside the pocket has been quite good.

Prediction: "The defense will give up big pass plays."
Status: Nauseatingly Accurate

Prediction: "I don't agree with this move [to sign Billy Cundiff] ... Will Cundiff represent an improvement? The Skins will be in some close games this year, and we'll have a chance to find out."
Status: Accurate.  Cundiff's misses were big in close games, and he was not an improvement over Gano.

Prediction: "The Skins O-Line will struggle as soon as just one starter gets injured."
Status: Undetermined, the starting O-Line has remained healthy.

Prediction: "This coming year might have more frustrations than successes, but given the youth and talent on both sides of the ball, the 2-3 year outlook is genuinely exciting"
Status:  Accurate so far, and hopefully will continue to be...
